Manufacturing Process

Made from a process developed by Dilmah over 5 years; the MJF beverages facility on Dilmah’s Rilhena Estate produces tea concentrates & ready-to-drink iced teas from freshly harvested tea, in a substantially superior method that protects its natural taste and goodness.

  Tea leaves are handpicked on Rilhena Estate

  Tea leaves are withered, rolled, fermented and dried on our Estate

  Extracted Tea is evaporated at low temperature to remove excess water under vacuum to protect flavour and goodness

  Extract is then rested. Honey, Vitamin C, stevia (natural sweetener) and sugar are added.
- The finished product is filled into aseptic bags
- Natural fruit or other flavour added where required and filled into bottles.

Tea Concentrate Products

Unsweetened Tea Concentrate

Ingredients: Water, Tea solids (Black or green), Citric acid, Vitamin C. Variants: Pure black Tea, Pure green Tea. Preparation: Can be used as an ingredient or based on the formula given by MJF Beverages for Dilmah Iced Tea. Shelf life: 6 months from manufacture date.

Elixir of Ceylon Tea Concentrate

Ingredients: Water, Sugar, Honey, Tea Solids (Black or Green), Citric Acid, Stevia, Honey Flavour. Variants: Black tea, Peach, Lemon Lime, Rose & Vanilla, Pear, Lychee, Mango, Ginger & Apple, Almond, Spicy Berry, Green Tea, Green Tea with Jasmine. Preparation: Based on the formula given by MJF Beverages for Iced Tea. Shelf life: 6 months from manufacture date, can be extended by 3 months if concentrate is stored in refrigerated conditions.
